What “SEO included” actually means

Plenty of agencies list SEO on a build and leave the definition vague. Here is exactly where the line sits, so nobody is disappointed three months later.
IN

Included in every build

Title tags and meta descriptions on every page, correct heading structure, image compression and alt text, XML sitemap and robots.txt, Search Console and Analytics connected, basic schema markup, mobile responsiveness, core speed work, SSL and security configuration.

NO

Not included in a build

Keyword research campaigns, content strategy, blog writing, link building, citation building, ranking work and ongoing optimisation. These belong to Digital Growth, because they are continuous work rather than a one-time setup.

The honest version: an SEO foundation is what makes a site eligible to rank. Actually ranking comes from ongoing work — content, reviews, links and optimisation over months. If someone promises you page one from a build alone, they are selling you something that does not exist.

Comparing us against other quotes? We break down what every tier actually includes in our 2026 website maintenance cost guide.

No surprises

What a Care plan covers — and what it does not

Anything in the middle or right column is always quoted and approved before we touch it. You will never receive an invoice for something you did not know would be billed.
Included in Care
Quoted separately
A new project
Text and image edits
A new page
A full redesign
Fixing a broken form
A new section on a page
A new website
Plugin conflicts
A plugin integration
An online store
Updating business info
A landing page
Custom functionality
Restoring from backup
A speed optimisation project
Complex automation
Before you ask

What actually changes the price

Two websites with the same page count can differ in cost by several times over, and it is rarely the design that explains the gap. These are the four things that genuinely move a quote up or down, so you can judge roughly where your project sits before you get in touch.

Pages and unique templates

What matters is not page count but how many different layouts are needed. Twelve pages sharing three templates is a smaller job than five pages that each look different. Listing pages, archives and single-item templates each count as their own design.

Custom features and integrations

A brochure site is straightforward. Costs rise with booking systems, payment gateways, member logins, property or vehicle listings with filtering, multi-language setups, or anything that has to talk to software you already use, such as a CRM or accounting tool.

Content and imagery

If copy and photography are ready, we build faster and cheaper. If we are writing page content, sourcing licensed imagery or restructuring content that arrives as loose documents, that is real work and it is priced as such.

Timeline

Standard scheduling is included in every quote. Compressing a four-week build into ten days means reordering other commitments, so genuine rush work carries a premium. Emergency fixes and hack recovery are quoted separately and handled immediately.

Included in every build, whatever you spend

Some agencies price these as extras. We do not, because a site without them is not finished.

How we work

Five things we commit to

These are not marketing lines. They are the terms we work under, and you are welcome to hold us to every one.
01

No surprise invoices

Nothing is billed without being quoted and approved first. If a request falls outside your plan, we say so before doing the work — never after.

02

You own your domain

Registered in your name, on your email address. Full ownership from day one, whether or not you stay with us. We are simply listed as the technical contact.

03

Leave whenever you want

No lock-in contracts. If you decide to move on, we export your full site and migrate it to any host you choose, free, within 30 days.

04

Your site stays online

We will never take a site down over a billing issue. If an invoice is late we pause work and talk to you. The site stays live.

05

We tell you the truth

If something is not worth doing, we say so — even when it costs us the sale. If your site does not need a rebuild, we will tell you that too.

06

Built for you to manage

Clean structure, no plugin bloat, no theme lock-in. You get training and documentation so editing text, swapping images and updating details never needs a developer.

We do not just claim these things — we measured how rare they are. See our study of 27 maintenance providers.

Pricing questions, answered

Our Essential build is $700 for five pages and Complete is $1,900 for up to ten pages with a full brand kit, copywriting and Google Business Profile setup. For context, a professional small-business site typically runs $2,000 to $8,000 in the United States and £1,200 to £4,000 in the United Kingdom, with agency entry points often higher again.

Different cost base, not lower standard. We work from Pakistan for clients in the UK, US, UAE and Australia, which means our overheads are a fraction of a London or Sydney agency’s while the work is built to the same standard on the same stack.

It books the build slot and covers the discovery, structure and design phase. The remaining 50% is due before we push the site live, so you see the finished result before the final payment.

The technical foundation is: title tags, meta descriptions, heading structure, image compression and alt text, sitemap, robots.txt, Search Console and Analytics, basic schema, mobile responsiveness, core speed work and SSL. Ongoing SEO — keyword campaigns, content, links and ranking work — is the Digital Growth plan, because it is continuous rather than a one-time setup.

No. The build is a complete product on its own and the site is deliberately made simple enough for you to run yourself. Roughly speaking, most clients take Care because they would rather not think about updates, but self-managing is a legitimate choice and we will not push you off it.

Additional pages are $90 each, quoted before we start. If the project is substantially bigger — an online store, a member area, custom functionality — we scope and quote it separately rather than stretching a package to fit.

On Complete, we write the page copy for you from a short briefing. On Essential we give you a content template and help fill the gaps. If you already have copy you are happy with, we structure and design around it.

Two weeks for Essential and three to four weeks for Complete, measured from when content and access are in place. If gathering content takes you longer, that is fine — we simply reschedule the build window together rather than rushing it.

No. The only things beyond the package price are extra pages at $90, premium plugin licences if your project genuinely needs one, and stock imagery if you want licensed photography. All of it is quoted and approved before we spend anything.

You get 30 days of free support for any fix or question, full administrator access, a written training guide, and on Complete a recorded walkthrough of your specific site. After that you either manage it yourself or move onto Website Care.

Not sure which one you need?

Tell us what your business does and what the site has to achieve. We will point you at the right option — including the cheaper one, if that is genuinely the right answer.
